MSRS is currently seeking candidates to fill three upcoming vacancies on the Board of Directors:
- General Employees Retirement Plan / Unclassified Retirement Plan (2 positions)
- State Patrol Retirement Plan (1 position)
No special experience or education is required; however, you must be a current, active member of the MSRS retirement plan that has a vacant position.
How to apply to be a candidate
Members interested in running for one of the open positions must submit the documents listed below by 4:30 p.m. C.T. on Fri, October 1, 2021. Forms are available on our website or email MSRSelections@msrs.us to have the forms mailed/emailed to you.
- Biographical Sketch. You can complete and submit this form online or by paper.
- Nominating Petition. Obtain signature of 10 current, active members of your MSRS retirement plan. MSRS must receive the ORIGINAL form with signatures.

What else you should know

The Board generally meets every other month on the third Thursday at 9 a.m. Meetings last about 3 to 4 hours. A few times a year, the meetings are extended to provide training and education to Board members.

Board members do not receive a salary but may be eligible for travel expense reimbursement and a per diem according to State guidelines.
