   Military Affairs Retirement Plan
 

The Military Affairs Retirement Plan covers military affairs personnel on active duty.

Election of Coverage
To be a member of the Military Affairs Plan, you must file a notice to MSRS' executive director stating that you choose to be a member of this plan. You must request the Plan Selection Form on which you make this request from MSRS. You need to file this form within 90 days of your start of employment. Your choice cannot be changed.

Contribution Rates
Your tax-deferred employee contribution to the Military Affairs Plan is 1.6 percent more than the General Plan rate. The percent is set by law and rates are subject to change. Your employer's contribution rate is 1.6 percent more than the General Plan rate. Currently that rate comes to 5.6 percent for each.
