   Correctional Employees Retirement Plan
  The Correctional Employees Retirement Plan covers correctional officers and other employees in the Departments of Corrections and Human Services who spend at least 75 percent of their employment directly responsible for inmate care. Membership in the plan is mandatory for the qualifying positions. Click here for a list of covered positions.

Contribution Rates
Contribution rates are established by Minnesota law and are based on the employee's gross salary. Both the employee and employer contribute to the retirement plan.
Employee:  8.60%  9.10%
Employer:  12.10%  12.85%

Employees covered by the Correctional Plan also contribute to Social Security.
